Course Objective

The objectives of this course are to enable the students to understand the basic problems of open-channel flow (with special emphasis on gradually varied flow and transitions in superctical flows and unsteady flows and solution of unsteady flows by using The Method of Characteristics).

Course Content

Review of fundamentals. Analysis and computation of steady and unsteady nonuniform flow in open channel systems. Flood routing methods. Hydraulic analysis and design of controls for free surface. (R)
