Course Objective

The objectives of this course is to teach students advanced level steel design. Topics that are not usually covered in undergraduate steel courses are covered herein. Both theoretical and practical knowledge related with advanced steel design is provided.

Course Content

Special connections, plate girders, industrial buildings, multistow steel structures, load and resistance factor design, fatigue in steel, light gauge steel construction. (R)

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able do conduct steel design at atvanced level. be able to synthesize information provided in the literature on steel design. be able to conduct advanced level structural analysis at member level.
