METU Civil Engineering Students ranked the 2nd in Design Sustainable Future Engineering Competition organized by Rönesans Holding. The team composed of Cevat Efe Şahin, Cem Dağdeviren, Furkan Sivri from Civil Engineering Program and Duygu Arslan from City and Regional Planning and Environmental Engineering Double Major Program. The competition was arranged as Architectural and Engineering parts separately. 930 teams (1930 Students) from 125 different universities participated in the competition in this year. Engineering Competition scope mainly consists of facade, roof (terraces included) and fire preventation systems designs of the head office of Rönesans Holding Ankara. It was necessary that these systems should be in the sustainable rules and have innovator ideas. Mobilization planning, cost estimation, scheduling, uncertainty analysis report, construction procedure and HSE report was also in the scope of the competition. In addition to award ceremony, our students got a chance to attend the workshop with Dr. Erman ILICAK founder of Rönesans Holding, İpek Ilıcak Kayaalp chairman of Rönesans Holding, French Designer Cristophe Pillet, Murat Tabanlıoğlu from Tabanlıoğlu Architects, Murat Kader from İKİDesign Group and Sefer Çağlar from Autoban.
